Two remarkable athletes, Ruba Al-Omari and Hussain Muhammad, will proudly represent Bahrain at the prestigious Paralympic Games in the City of Love. These inspiring individuals will carry the vibrant Bahraini flag, showcasing the nation’s spirit and determination on the global stage.
In anticipation of their participation in the world’s most prominent athletic competition for individuals with determination, they are fully engrossed in rigorous training, refining their skills, and challenging themselves daily to reach new heights. Since July 22, they have been diligently preparing at a training camp in Kazakhstan, demonstrating their unwavering conviction that no aspiration is beyond their grasp.
With pride and excellence, Al-Omari, known as the first wheelchair basketball player in the Gulf region, will compete in the discus throw F55 category.
During Tokyo 2020, she was Bahrain’s sole female competitor and flag-bearer. She has proved her athletic prowess in various world competitions, including the World Discus Throw, Gulf Leagues, and the West Asian Championship.
Meanwhile, Hussain Muhammad will compete in the men’s 400m T11 with his guide, Abdulla Jameel.
The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will kick off on August 28 and will end on September 8.
