The co-main event of BRAVE CF 91 will see a high-stakes Bantamweight clash between Arab MMA legend Hamza Kooheji and Turkish superstar Alperen Karabulut and ahead of the showdown, Karabulut has initiated a war of words with the Bahraini MMA pioneer.
During the BRAVE CF 91 media day, Karabulut noted that Kooheji, who has been away from the BRAVE CF cage for the past two years due to injury has lost his hunger and spirit.
“Hamza was away for two years. He lost the hunger. He lost the spirit but that spirit is burning inside of me” noted Karabulut.
Taking the mental warfare to the next level, Karabulut also weighed in on the pressure on Kooheji. He noted that Kooheji will be under more pressure to perform as he will be fighting in front of his home crowd against a younger fighter.
Karabulut, who has extensive experience in Kickboxing, Muay Thai and Freestyle wrestling, is also a veteran in MMA with a professional MMA record of 11 wins and four losses.
Riding high on a recent first-round stoppage victory, he will be making his promotional debut at BRAVE CF 91. Stepping into the cage with a legend like Hamza Kooheji in his debut matchup presents Karabulut with the opportunity to make a name for himself on the grandest stages of them all.
On the other hand, Kooheji, who has been away from the BRAVE CF cage for the last two years due to injury will be making his much-awaited return to the organization. Kooheji is coming on the back of an impressive first-round stoppage victory in the regional circuit and will be hoping to continue his momentum when he gets into the cage on home soil. A victory at BRAVE CF 91 will put Hamza back in contention for the Bantamweight title.
BRAVE Combat Federation will be wrapping up the record-breaking 2024 year with the upcoming BRAVE International Combat Week which will kick off with BRAVE CF 91. The event will be followed by the IMMAF Asian Youth Championship and BRAVE CF 92 on December 15.
