The BRAVE CF 91 weigh-ins took place in Bahrain on Thursday ahead of the highly anticipated fight night on Friday and saw drama unfold.
Nkosi Ndebele and Nicholas Hwende both stepped on the scales well within the Bantamweight Title fight limit of 61.2kg to make their Bantamweight title fight official. The showdown between Nkosi and Hwende will headline BRAVE CF 91, and at the press conference on Wednesday night, the fighters raised the stakes by placing a $5000 wager on their showdown.
For the Light Heavyweight super fight, Ubaidula Tagirov weighed in at 93kg, while his opponent Abdelliah Azzouzi came in at 93.3kg on his second attempt, after weighing 93.7kg on his first attempt.
Elsewhere, returning to BRAVE CF after a two-year hiatus, Hamza Kooheji missed weight, coming in at 62.5kg, above the 61.7kg limit. Kooheji’s opponent, Alperen Karabulut, successfully made weight at 61.7kg and will receive a portion of Kooheji’s purse as a result.
The world’s best undefeated Flyweight, Muhammad Mokaev, and his opponent Joevincent So both made the Catchweight limit of 60kg. Mokaev weighed in at 60kg, while Joevincent weighed 58.4kg, making weight despite taking the fight on short notice.
Zagid Gaidarov and Eliezer Kubanza both showed professionalism by making weight on their first attempts for their Super Welterweight clash.
Dias Erengaipov, Marciano Ferreira, Mohammed Alsameea, and Salah Walid all made weight within the Flyweight limit for their respective bouts, while Hussain Al Kurdi and Seif Shawki both weighed in at 70.7kg for their Lightweight showdown.
Sabrina De Souza came in above the Flyweight limit of 57.2kg for her fight against Mariane Mariano. Sabrina weighed in at 58.4kg and will forfeit a portion of her purse to her Filipino opponent, who made weight at 56.8kg. Kantemir Shibzukhov also missed weight for his Featherweight clash, weighing in at 68.6kg, more than 2kg above the limit.
BRAVE CF 91 will take place on December 13 at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Bahrain and will be the eleventh event of the year for BRAVE Combat Federation.
