It is not every day that you see accomplished judokas transitioning to the sport of MMA. Over the years, legends like Ronda Rousey and Kayla Harrison have found success in MMA and now, India’s Suchika Tariyal aims to follow in their footsteps when she steps into the cage at BRAVE CF 92 in Bahrain on December 15.

Suchika, who recently signed a multi-fight contract with BRAVE Combat Federation, is an eight-time national judo champion and a gold medallist for India at both the Commonwealth Championships and the South Asian Games. Over the course of her judo career, Suchika has represented India in more than 20 international competitions, establishing herself as one of the country’s most successful judokas.

In 2017, Suchika made her MMA debut, submitting her opponent in the third round and offering a glimpse of her potential as an MMA fighter. While she has not competed since, she is now ready to make her mark on the global MMA stage as she faces Filipino star Jhen Buzon in her BRAVE CF debut at BRAVE CF 92.

Recently, the Indian added another accolade to her name by becoming a world champion in jiu-jitsu, winning the gold medal at the JJIF Ju-Jitsu World Championships in Heraklion, Greece. The achievement proved that she is more than just a judoka and with her legacy firmly established in judo and grappling, the rising Indian star now looks to showcase her skills on the most global MMA organization in the world.

In addition to Suchika’s BRAVE CF debut, BRAVE CF 92 will feature five India vs. Pakistan bouts, highlighting the iconic sporting rivalry and making it one of the biggest fight cards for Indian MMA.
