Manama, Bahrain – November 28, 2024: First Motors, the exclusive dealer and distributor of Hyundai vehicles, has officially announced its sponsorship of the ongoing World Weightlifting Championships, taking place in Bahrain from December 4 to 15, 2024. This marks the first time Bahrain hosting this prestigious global event.
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative office Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the championship is being held in the area across the Bahrain National Museum. The event is expected to attract significant attention, featuring 473 athletes from 92 countries competing across 48 weight categories in both men’s and women’s divisions, including youth competitions.
Mr. Nawaf Khalid Al Zayani, Managing Director of First Motors, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting sports in Bahrain. “We are honored to be part of the World Weightlifting Championships, as this is a historic occasion for Bahrain,” he stated. “The exceptional organization and efforts by all involved reflect Bahrain’s dedication to excellence in hosting major sporting events.”

The championship is organised by the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation in collaboration with the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), the Ministry of Tourism, the General Authority for Sports, and the Bahrain Olympic Committee. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of all stakeholders to deliver a world-class event that showcases Bahrain’s organizational capabilities and enhances its standing on the international sports stage.
