Kristian Blummenfelt wins another Ironman 70.3 MEC Bahrain

Kristian Blummenfelt scored his third win in a row at the Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship triathlon in Bahrain.

Kristian Blummenfelt took took the Ironman course by storm in Manama, Bahrain to set a new IRONMAN World Championship course record by just under 4 minutes as he defends his Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship – Bahrain title. 

Here is all you need to know:

– The Norwegian did not lead the entire race, having clocked 0:22:26 at the Swim course to come out 3rd on the leaderboard behind Ben Kanute and Daniel Bækkegård, respectively.

– While the leaderboard fluctuated throughout the 90KM Bike course, Blummenfelt completed the course with a .02 second lead over Philip Graves.

– It was smooth sailing for Blummenfelt once he hit the Running course, maintaining the lead and increasing the gap between him and Daniel Bækkegård to 3m54.48s when he won the race.

– Blummenfelt broke the world record for the Ironman 70.3 race in 2018 when he completed the triathlon in 3 hours, 29 minutes and 4 seconds. This year, he completed it in 3 hours, 25 minutes, and 21 seconds.
