The Pinoy Bahrain Basketball League is one of the most well-known and fast-growing sporting and social events for the Filipino Community in Bahrain. In 2018, PBBL started with 34 teams and has grown rapidly to 59 teams this year. Due to the popularity of the league, it now caters to different levels of basketball skills and abilities including the invitational commercial divisions with players from Bahrain, USA, Saudi Arabia and Europe including Romania, Greece and Croatia.
The objective of PBBL is to promote the true spirit of camaraderie among basketball enthusiasts and to inspire others to participate in charitable activities to help the less fortunate. On August 2, 2019, PBBL opened the Regional League with a medical mission program. 14 teams came to represent the different regions of the Philippines to vie for a spot in the much-anticipated championship.
This year, PBBL will hold its biggest and most exciting event, ‘The PBBL 2nd Season 2nd Conference’ which will run from September 2019 until February 2020. The theme of the event will be ‘PBBL Scholarship League’ which will aim to sponsor the school fees of needy children.
