Riffa SC progresses to the next round of Mohammed VI Cup with a perfect record

Riffa Sports Club has produced yet another flawless victory in the closing stages of the preliminary round to progress in the Mohammed VI Cup with a 1-0 score against Al-Zawra’a of Iraq, in the last match of Group A. The only goal of the game was scored by Mahdi Abduljabbar.
With the third victory in as many games, the reigning Bahrain Premier League Champions progress to the Round of 32 of the Mohammed VI Cup. The campaign so far has been perfect, with eight goals scored and none conceded in three matches. It is the first tournament for Riffa SC since the start of the groundbreaking partnership with KHK MMA and BRAVE CF which will empower the club and football domestically and in the international scene.
And that empowerment can be felt instantly as that partnership has made an instant international impact in the preliminary round of the Arab Club Champions Cup, which this year bears the name of His Royal Highness King Mohammed VI of Morocco, as the final will be played in Morocco.
Riffa SC had the best overall campaign in the preliminary round, with the eight goals scored and none conceded slightly surpassed the leaders of Group B, JS Saoura, of Algeria, as they too won their three matches and had no goal conceded but have fewer goals scored (seven).
The Bahraini champions will now face Olympic Safi, of Morocco, in a two-leg knockout match in the Round of 32. The dates for both matches will be announced in the coming days.
